Happy Mother's Day

Happy 18th Birthday Shannon!

Wow!  18 years old!  To these grandparents, it is unbelievable.  Remembering that day 18 years ago and as trite as it sounds, the time really has flown  by.  Shannon, you are so lovely, inside and out.  And you are dearly loved!

When the flowers are blooming, I have fresh bouquets everywhere I look in my house.  Another reason it's my favorite time of year.  These Iris are gorgeous!  Thank you, Vivian!  They are from the bulbs you gave me last fall.  This is my favorite flower!  (Along with hydrangeas, jasmine, roses, sweet peas and a few others that grow in my yard.)   My favorite man is so good at bringing home flowers for me throughout the year.  But now, the season is here, he gets a break.  The yard is full of fresh blooms and I am loving the fragrance and the beauty of it all!

Remembering my beautiful friend.....

Remembering my friend Linda.....her beautiful smile, her love for the Lord, her joy in serving, her love and dedication to her family, her friendship!  She loved teaching and her students loved her.  The last time we were together we talked and talked and talked, trying to catch up on everything and we could have talked for hours longer......but it was time to say goodby.  Little did we know, it would be the last time.  She will be missed by so many.  I celebrate her life and also her "home going".  Heaven...her real home.

Movie Night and Dinner

The Tuesday Night Girls had a wonderful time together last night.  We watched "A Beautiful Life" (with lots of laughter and then pass the kleenex please!  A powerful movie.) and had dinner.  I just wish I had taken more pictures.  These pics didn't turn out well but are all I have.  It was great fellowship and the laughter continued throughout the evening.   These women shared what the Lord is doing in their lives this past year.  It was amazing to hear of their faith and growth even in the midst of some trying circumstances!  I love these women.  And so grateful for their faithfulness to Tuesday Night Bible Study.  They encourage and minister to one another and to me.  "Iron sharpens iron and one 'woman'  sharpens another"  Proverbs 27:17  Each of these women come to the study and they all know it is No Coincidence!   Just God bringing them and working in their lives.  And last night sure was fun!

Happy Birthday Charlene Rogde!

Happy Birthday to my sister! She is to me a friend, a confident, a mentor and a role model in so many ways. She is someone I enjoy spending time with and she loves to have fun. She is a woman of character who lives out her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I am honored to be her friend as well as her sister.
Something you might not know about Charlene: she once hiked all the way down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back again. What stamina!
We are making this a Birthday Weekend. Today we will lunch with family and then go shopping at all our favorite stores. Our favorite kind of day.....that is next to being over at the coast enjoying the ocean!

Back to work!

Just got the call......return to duty 7:30 a.m. tomorrow morning. Groan. Whine. Complain. Murmur. Okay, I got that out of my system. Long sigh. Now I am ready to return to work. (or will be tomorrow morning when the alarm goes off at 5:00 a.m.)

Shannon update

This grandmother has been a little "Shannon obsessed" this week! She's been so sick with a severe case of the stomach flu and ended up in the hospital. All's well now. She's home. On the road to recovery. God is faithful!

We were spoiled, spoiled, spoiled by master chef Steve. Filet Mignon, Salmon, Teriyaki Steak - every night dinner was a feast. And the homemade desserts! The best Creme Brule I have ever eaten....ditto for the key lime pie (real key lime) and the Christmas chocolate roll.

What a good time with my lovely sister-in-law, Karen. She used to be my next-door-neighbor........then my brother-in-law flew out to visit us........met Karen. The rest is history! It is a real sweet love story - and here it is nine years later! As Jeffrey says, they are "two peas in a pod"!
